SCOTLAND could be heading for a "double-dip" recession after the country's economy failed to grow during the first three months of the year, business leaders and top economists have warned.

Latest figures from the Scottish Government show the economy recorded no growth between January and March after gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 0.3 per cent in the final three months of last year.

The Scottish people can solve this by thinking about how and where they spend their money.

Few people do the opportunity cost analysis when they buy.
Buying cheapest is not always best for your pocket, if it means british and scottish jobs are lost to low labour cost nations, the cost is higher taxation and cuts in services as less tax revenue is raised from the lost jobs and cost is increased theough benefits.
Check the label, check if you buy british, check the carbon footprint.

to some, the full cost of their purchases is important, the ethical questions involved.
What i was tryingto say that if you are aware of the carbon footprint of a product, for example food, and buy lower "cost" carbon footprint items, these items are more likely to be grown local. Buying local fruit, potatoes etc should ensure local jobs.

(that does ignore the picking gangs of romanias that do the picking lol(
