If you are a member of the trust who has provided an email address you should have got the recent email regarding the 5p collection sheets, I'm interested to know what members think, is it a good idea or not?

I got mine. I suppose you could say that any way to raise money is a good idea; whether folk will remind themselves to stick their 5p on a card, I'm not sure.
I know I won't remember to do it so I would say it's likely the Trust won't receive anything from me using this particular fundraising initiative! :1zhelp:
Does the Trust have a fundraising committee who work solely on fundraising ideas: putting forward ideas about how to generate money; organising events etc.?

No they dont, but I think they should.
Things did go a bit quiet on the fund raising side for a while but I'm optimistic that things are starting to pick up again.
With regards the 5p sheets I'm hoping that some of the junior members might take this up.

I received mine yes. I already put all loose change in a large bottle so I would need to try and remember to keep back the 5p's especially. It's a good idea but perhaps needs to be handed out to a wider group of people to make it more effective :banana-th Maybe people handing sheets out to their pals, family and workmates?

Fair point.
Print a few off and hand them out, I would hope that all the members would want to be pro-active with regards fundraising :banana-th

I also think it would be an idea to set up a fundraising committee. We (HOPE) have our own fundraising committee, they tend to do the day to day fundraising work like the 50/50 club; raffle tickets/prizes; selling pens etc. When it comes to the bigger fundraisers e.g. 70's night; we all pitch in and work on it. We recently had a 70's night and raised £1,000, not bad for a night's work and we are organising an adult Halloween party to be held at the end of this month. These type of events can bring in money when you include raffle tickets being sold on the night.

I think this could be the way to get this working. :banana-th

Has anyone else noticed how few 5p coins you actually get, everything is priced at £'s plus 99p, though the beer I was on last night was £2.05 a pint so as long as pints were bought in odd numbers I got a 5p coin, see the things I'll do for the cause

Apart from M&S who stopped doing that a while back. Everything there seems to be rounded up to the nearest pound [jump]

Is this perhaps an idea that non-trust members could take part in?
I don't know the exact details, but I know I have a shitload of 5p coins kicking about.
