We are now able to announce that our rescheduled AGM will take place on Sunday 10th February at 2pm, and will be held in the Almondvale Suite at the club.
The delay was due to the requirement for us to produce professionally audited accounts, and these are now completed. In previous years we have had independently prepared accounts which were acceptable to Supporters Direct, HM Customs for our Corporation Tax and the FSA. This year we were under pressure from SD to have officially audited accounts, which is a requirement of member Trusts. The costs involved in an audit are high, therefore we will present a resolution at the AGM proposing an adjustment to our constitution, which will allow us to use independently approved accounts in the future, avoiding the costs of an audit. This is allowed under SD rules as long it is built into our constitution. We will continue to have accounts which are accurate and acceptable to SD and HM Customs, and the money saved on the costs of an auditor can be better spent.
A number of board members will be stepping down this year (and some have already done so) so we would be delighted to welcome any member who feels they can spare a few hours over the coming year to help out on the Trust Board. Fresh ideas and impetus are always welcome, and this is a good time to get involved following our purchase of shares and our ongoing investments in the club through a range of grants. All in all (through grants and the shares donation) the club has received £32,950 through the Trust over the last few months. I'm sure you'll agree this is a tremendous acheivement, and we hope you can help us continue the good work in the future.
It is essential that as many members as possible attend the AGM, as there will be a number of constitutional changes requiring a vote and the Board for the coming year will need ratified.
Our membership is still growing steadily, but we would obviously wish to see it grow considerably more - anyone wishing to join the Trust can download a membership form from the thread on this board, or from the Trust website.
Thanks
