Drove past the pickets tonight, loads of them with plenty of police officers, police vehicles, barriers and cones.
I hope just like LFC have to pay for crowd control that Tesco's are too.

Passed last night again, loads of polis, Mobile command centre and everything. I'd hope that with Bathgate Highland Games being on that the local polis weren't too stretched as a result of it.

Apparently more drivers might be joining the strike and it may spread to other supermarkets/industries, the molley coddled drivers of today are rebelling.

The drivers who went on strike, were sent letters delivered by taxi on Saturday. This letter told them not to come to work for 7 days,"for a cooling off period"
Tesco managed to get stock to the stores during the strike by using contractors units to take the trailers. But they had to pay big bucks to their drivers to cross the picket line.£500 PER DAY.Agency drivers were on £40 pound per hour to take out the Tesco units.
Since then Tesco have been using contractors. And they have brought over drivers from Poland. And put them up in a Glenrothes hotel, and a private hire company ferry them to and from the depot.

Tesco now own 50% of their "preferred contractor" Eddie Stobarts apparently.
Large fleet of plain blue trucks delivered to one of their (Tescos) RDCs in the north of Engerland to trunk stuff up.
Is it true that this strike will escalate with others who are sick of surviving on Tesco's "great wages" topped up with working families tax credits joining in? Every little helps, eh?

The strike scheduled for Tuesday/Wednesday of this week has been cancelled to allow more talks.
